Videography Portfolio

With roles from videographer to full-service content creator, I had involvement in each of the following projects. The extent of my involvement is indicated below each project's listing. To view a listed project, click its title or preview image. I also encourage you to check out this demo reel!

A Deal With The Devil

This is a student film created in 2013 by a group of students, including myself, at Mott Community College. I was the cinematographer and director of photography and lighting, working at the direction of our director, and in cooperation with the actors and sound engineer. Even at this early skill level, I was using techniques like shaky camera, selective lighting, and moving shots.

Lauson CL506 Review

I reviewed an all-in-one phonograph/radio/CD player in a YouTube review video. Writing, videography, editing and narration by me. Set to royalty-free music.

Vehicle Towing Compound Accident
A BeamNG.drive Story

This is an educational video I created for fun after creating a version of it for a storytelling assignment for a class. I captured in-game footage from the video game/vehicle physics simulator, BeamNG.drive, and commissioned a voice actor to record the narration from a script I composed. Inspiration for the project came from incident analysis videos posted online by the United States Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board. My specific roles were writer, editor, and virtual cinematographer (unfortunately, the recording tools in this game are somewhat limited). I also selected and utilized royalty-free music.

MotorWeek '89 - Soliad Wendover (BeamNG Parody)

This is a parody video I created using audio and portions of the video from MotorWeek '89's segment on the Buick Riviera, with most of the video replaced with clips of an equivalent vehicle from Beam.NG Drive. I used screen-recordings from my own gameplay, and video effect techniques to emulate a VHS tape recording, appropriate for the time period.

Acrobatic and cinematic drone footage of a moving vehicle

Using two completely different drones, I partnered with the driver of the vehicle pictured to take moving shots of the car. First with an acrobatic racing drone equipped with a GoPro, and second, with a camera drone. The switch between drones comes halfway through the video just after the 2:00 mark.

Google Tiltbrush demonstration

During the initial isolation of COVID-19 while I was working remotely, I created this demonstration of how Google Tiltbrush facilitates creativity in unique ways, for teacher candidates to benefit from. I wrote, screen-captured and narrated this demonstration of Google Tiltbrush, and set it to royalty-free music.

SEclipse Weather Balloon Footage Compilation

During the solar eclipse of 2017, EDvolution partnered with some folks who sent up weather balloons with student experiments and many cameras onboard. I was tasked with editing several hours of total footage to a short highlight video of launch, burst, and crash-landing. Set to royalty-free music.

Video Montage

This was my first assignment in the Media Arts & Entertainment Technology program at Mott Community College, circa 2012. I made a short video montage of the family cat. Videography and editing by me.
